Students who meet the commencement requirements and have successfully completed all courses and the capstone from May 2024 through August 2025 are invited.

The registration deadline is December 20, 2025, at 11:59 PM (Spanish Time) / 5:59 PM (Miami Time).

Is there a fee to attend the commencement?
Attendance at the ceremony is free of charge for both students and their properly registered guest. However, you will need to cover the cost of purchasing the Cap & Gown. You can find the information at this link (link to the event regalia website, which will be provided ASAP).

What time does the ceremony start?
The ceremony will begin at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026.

What time should you arrive?
Students must arrive 1 hour and 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
Guests must arrive at least 30 minutes in advance.

Can you enter the venue if you arrive late?
Entry will not be allowed after the ceremony has started.

Is there a maximum capacity?
Yes, once the maximum capacity is reached, registration will only be available for the online option.

How many guests can attend?
Each student may be accompanied by a maximum of one guest, who must be over 18 years old.

Can you request additional guests?
If additional capacity is available, extra passes may be granted, with priority given to those who confirmed their attendance first.

If a fellow student doesn’t bring guests, can you use their spots?
No. Any changes or requests must be communicated and approved in advance at commencement@miuniversity.edu.

Do guests need to show identification?
No, it is not necessary. Each guest will be asked for the name of the student they are accompanying. Remember, only one guest per student is allowed. Guests who are not registered in advance will not be allowed entry.

Is there a dress code?
While formal attire is recommended for this academic event, jackets and ties are not mandatory.

Do I need a Cap & Gown to participate in the ceremony?
Yes, it is necessary to attend the ceremony wearing the appropriate Cap & Gown, which will be available through an official provider. Students participating in the ceremony have been sent a link via email to purchase their Cap & Gown. You can choose to have it shipped to your home or pick it up on the days and times prior to the ceremony at the MIU Campus in Miami.

Will the organization provide official photographs of the event?
Yes. Professional photographers will take pictures throughout the ceremony. The photos will be available on the commencement website a few days after the event. Additionally, this photography service will be available for professional photos of each graduate and their family, which will be available for purchase a few days after the event. You will also have access to the official photo backdrop to take your own pictures.

Can someone attend on your behalf?
No, entry requires valid ID, and only registered students can participate.

Can family and friends watch the ceremony via streaming?
Of course. The streaming will be available on our YouTube page and will go live a few minutes before the commencement begins.

Can you switch from in-person to online attendance?
Before the registration deadline, you can contact commencement@miuniversity.edu if you wish to change your registration modality. Once the registration deadline has passed, it will no longer be possible to request a change.

What document will be given to students?
At the time of the ceremony, a symbolic diploma will be presented as proof of attendance, which does not have official status.

If you cannot attend your commencement can you participate in another one?
No, it is not possible to attend a different commencement, as attendance is required for each specific ceremony.

If you ultimately cannot attend the ceremony, what should you do?
You must notify in advance via email at commencement@miuniversity.edu.

How can you download the commemorative diploma?
During the ceremony, you will find a download button (in the Online Attendance tab) to obtain your personalized commemorative diploma.

What if you have trouble downloading the diploma during the ceremony?
Check the document number (passport, ID card, etc.) used to register in order to correctly download your attendance diploma. Confirm it with the confirmation email you received upon registration. You will not be able to download the diploma if you did not register within the specified deadline.

Will you receive a stole?
Online students can also purchase their Cap & Gown. They will receive an email with instructions on how to make the purchase and have the Cap & Gown delivered to their country.

Will online graduates receive a stole?
No, stoles are only provided to in-person attendees. However, online graduates may purchase a Cap & Gown and/or a stole if desired.

Can you switch from online to in-person attendance?
You can contact commencement@miuniversity.edu before the registration deadline if you wish to change the registration type. This change is subject to availability.
Once the registration deadline has passed, it will no longer be possible to request a change of registration type.

You can follow the ceremony live via streaming. Students attending online will not be called by name or appear on screen. However, you will be able to download your personalized attendance diploma.
