We are thrilled to share a glimpse into this special day through the inspiring words of Carlos Espinoza, one of the graduates from our International MBA program. Here is his commencement speech:

Esteemed Authorities: Dr. Daniel Burgos, President of MIU; Dr. Marisol Salcedo, Associate Dean; Dr. Rubén González, Global Academic Director at PROEDUCA; Dr. Oscar Montero, Academic Director at PROEDUCA; Dr. Luisa Zozaya, Academic Innovation Coordinator at the International University of La Rioja; and Dr. Eliette Barrios, Lead Instructor at MIU. Faculty, Tutors, MIU Staff, Fellow Graduates, Distinguished Guests, good afternoon.

I come from Guayaquil, Ecuador, and it is an honor to be here, celebrating not just our academic achievement after completing the Master of Science in International Business Administration at MIU, but also the resilience and determination that we have all demonstrated. I want to thank God, our professors, and tutors for their guidance throughout this process, and our families, who have been our unwavering support even in the most challenging times.

As we graduate today, we look toward a future filled with challenges and opportunities. In a world where discipline, integrity, and honesty are more important than ever, it is our responsibility to be examples for future generations: our children, peers, and collaborators. We all face time constraints, the pressure of balancing home responsibilities with our careers, and the economic difficulties affecting many of us.
As global citizens, we are witnesses to the complex economic, political, and social realities affecting our countries. Despite these adversities, we have found the motivation to seek progress and reach new goals. Our education at MIU has not only provided us with academic tools but also the emotional strength to face these challenges.

As the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu wisely said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” It is in this spirit that we must move forward, overcoming difficulties with courage and determination. The health of our loved ones, the pressures of entrepreneurship, and family responsibilities have taught us the importance of empathy and mutual support. This is our true essence: to be supportive and help each other on our path to success.

Looking ahead, I invite you all to continue advancing with discipline, integrity, and honesty. Let us be a beacon of inspiration for those who follow in our footsteps, demonstrating that despite challenges, it is possible to achieve our dreams and contribute to a better world. Let us appreciate every opportunity and work together to build a brighter future for all.
