In our increasingly digital world, <strong>the concept of marketing has to keep evolving<\/strong> to help brands stay relevant, connect with their audiences, and drive growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, what are the key skills you need to get your foot in the door of this dynamic, high-demand field?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">User-based design<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the past, marketing was focused mainly on the product. Campaigns highlighted the product\u2019s features and quality, based on the belief that a good product would simply sell itself. The message was simple: \u201cThis is our amazing product, and here\u2019s what it does. Who\u2019s interested?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conversely, user-based design revolves around the customer, also known as the user. This approach aims to <strong>understand the customer\u2019s needs, desires, emotions, and behaviors<\/strong> to create a product that\u2019s aligned with their values and identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The importance of UX<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>UX (user experience) is a key component of user-based design.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve ever visited a confusing website that\u2019s difficult to navigate, you\u2019ll know how quickly users leave to find an easier alternative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Intuitive design<\/strong> revolves around the user\u2019s needs, preferences, and behaviors to create a positive experience and increase brand interaction.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Customer analysis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And how do you get to know your audience so well?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It all comes down to customer analysis. By gathering data from various sources (website interactions, purchase history, social media, surveys, etc.), it\u2019s possible to <strong>track and analyze customer needs, preferences, and behaviors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customer analysis comprises many different methods, including strategic segmentation, the customer lifecycle, RFM models, measuring marketing results, and creating predictive models to optimize marketing strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What strategies? Let\u2019s take a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inbound marketing and SEO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Inbound marketing is a strategy used to <strong>attract potential customers to your website by creating valuable content.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, <strong>imagine a user types this into Google: <\/strong>\u201cwhite pants what shoes.\u201d (Yes, it sounds a bit clunky, but that\u2019s how people search \u2014 remember, we have the data.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the first results that pops up is a blog post titled <em>15 Shoes To Wear With White Pants<\/em>. The user smiles and clicks the link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They read the article (or, in most cases, they scroll, look at the photos, and maybe skim over a few sentences. A pair of white sneakers catches their eye. They click the link and find themselves on a page where they can buy the same shoes they saw in the article. <strong>They click \u201cbuy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s inbound marketing. It\u2019s <strong>completely focused on the user<\/strong>: it was the user who made the search and found quality content (the blog) that not only answered their question, but also offered a solution: buy new shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What about SEO?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>SEO (search engine optimization) is a combination of strategies and actions that aim to <strong>make a webpage appear among the first results on a search engine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, when the user did the search on Google, the blog post about the shoes didn\u2019t just <em>happen <\/em>to pop up near the top of the search results. It did so because of SEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEO is considered \u201corganic\u201d<\/strong> because it naturally improves a webpage\u2019s ranking in search results \u2014 <strong>without having to pay for advertising<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a wide range of SEO strategies, from keyword research, content structure, and links to loading speed, linkbuilding, authority, and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digital advertising and SEM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike SEO, digital advertising and SEM (search engine marketing) are <strong>paid ways to promote a brand or product<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While SEO works to get a webpage to the top of search results organically, SEM pursues the same goal through paid placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, when our user searched for shoes on Google, they also saw some boxes under the word <strong>\u201cSponsored\u201d <\/strong>on the results page.<strong> <\/strong>Each box contained a picture of a pair of shoes, a title, the price, and the brand.
