MIU announce strategic partnership with UNIR & the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce of Miami to launch Miami International Week 2026
MIU City University Miami and Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR) have signed a framework agreement with the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Florida (Spain-US Chamber of Commerce – Knowledge Center), to which Universidad Villanueva has also joined. The alliance will launch the Miami International Week, an academic and business immersion week to be held in Miami from October 20–23, 2026.
The agreement was signed at the Madrid headquarters of PROEDUCA — the group to which the first two educational institutions belong — with the signatures of Juan Carlos Pereira, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce; Eva Asensio, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNIR; Daniel Burgos, President of MIU City University Miami; and Javier Sota, Secretary General of Universidad Villanueva.
This agreement stems from the identification of shared interests and the commitment of the universities and the Chamber to advance projects that strengthen academic development, professional engagement, and the international reach of their students.
Academic Cooperation and International Outreach
The agreement establishes a collaboration framework that will strengthen the relationship between the universities and the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Florida in areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic dynamics between Spain, the United States, and Latin America. The institutions emphasize that this type of alliance helps consolidate a stable space for cooperation, capable of generating research initiatives, joint programs, and new educational opportunities with a real impact on students’ professional trajectories.
Through the Chamber of Commerce’s Knowledge Center, the agreement will boost the visibility and role of the universities as leading academic partners in internationally oriented activities. This will enable the development of initiatives that connect the university environment with real business settings, facilitating the transfer of knowledge and participation in projects that expand the presence and reputation of the institutions at the international level.
The collaboration also includes the possibility of designing future educational activities, professional meetings, and joint projects that strengthen ties between the U.S. business community and Spanish university talent, fostering a closer relationship between academia and industry on both sides of the Atlantic.

Immersion in Miami’s Business Ecosystem
The Miami International Week is conceived as an immersive experience that will give MBA students with executive profiles a firsthand look at Miami’s dynamic business ecosystem. Over four days, participants will have access to key institutions, innovation hubs, and leading companies from the local economic landscape, enabling them to understand both the city’s growth dynamics and the role played by its strategic sectors.
Sessions will include meetings with entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, and executives from established companies, providing direct insight into the challenges and opportunities of operating in a market as dynamic as Miami’s. This interaction will allow students to understand the factors driving business activity in the United States and to expand their professional networks with high-value contacts.
