MIU Receives DEAC Accreditation

MIU City University Miami is proud to announce that the institution was granted accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) during its Commission meeting in June of this year. This accreditation is a mark of academic and institutional quality, and the result of a rigorous vetting and evaluation process, applying DEAC’s exacting standards for curriculum, assessment, student support, faculty qualification, and administrative consistency, among others.

This achievement by MIU ensures uninterrupted institutional accreditation status for the university since 2015. Furthermore, it marks a critical milestone in our university’s mission for continuous improvement and the recognition of academic and institutional excellence which comes thanks to, and to the benefit of the entire MIU community of students, faculty, and staff.

What is DEAC?

The Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) is an accreditor of institutions that primarily offer distance education. Founded in 1926, DEAC is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency.
